Duduma Water Fall

Duduma Waterfall is situated in the border of Koraput (Odisha) and Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) districts of India. This horsetail type waterfall is 175 metres (574 ft) in height and is formed by the Machkund river. It has two sub-waterfalls, one on the Odisha side and the other on the Andhra Pradesh side.[citation needed] Duduma is about 92 km from Koraput and about 177 km from Visakhapatnam. Machkund is a pilgrimage destination. The aboriginal tribe of Bonda, Gadaba, and paraja’s live near this waterfall.

Balda Cave

Balda Cave situated 66 Kms away from Koraput. Surrounding with natural beauty. The top of the mountain plateau is flat one. 05 nos of football matches can be played at a time. The Jalaput reservoir from this plateau is enchanting one. Donger Dei is the main deity of the cave worship by the local people during Chaitra Festival. It is best place for trekking and place for nature lover.

GUPTESWAR CAVE

Gupteswar Cave is a cave shrine dedicated to Shiva.[1] It is a pilgrim site situated about 55 km (34 mi) away Jeypore, Koraput District in the state of Odisha, India. It is a limestone cave, and its main attraction is the gigantic Shiva Linga which is said to be increasing in size. It is believed that the cave was discovered by Rama and re-discovered in the reign of Maharajah Veer Vikram Dev. In the holy month of Shravan, the cave is visited by devotees who walk to the shrine bare-footed with decorated bamboo palanquins called “Kanwadiya” and bathe in the maha kund before worshipping Lord Gupteshwar. 

Kolab Dam

The majestic Kolab Reservoir generating Hydro Electric Power sitting at an altitude of about 914.4 m (3,000 ft) above sea level on river Kolab,a tributary of Godvari river. Kolab Dam is 646 m (2,119 ft) in length and 55 m (180 ft) in height. A possible idea of “A project of Kolab dam” were first come during the British Rule when Koraput district was a part of Madras presidency. After Independence, an investigation was taken place by Govt. of Odisha in 1961. Finally the project was approved by the planning commission after several proposals of Govt. of Odisha in 1976 and the project was completed in 1993.

Deomali

Deomali is a hidden unexplored gem in the Chandragiri-Pottangi sub-range of the Eastern Ghats. Situated near Koraput town in the Koraput district of southern Odisha, Deomali is located at an elevation of 1,672 metres above sea level.

Deomali offers solitude in Nature’s lap. Alternating between hilly ranges and green plains, this place offers an ideal temperature for travellers, neither too cold nor too hot.
